First of all, unlike what the others have told you, I would buy another 706 with a D282 any day of the week! We got one and I love it! Runs good, easy on diesel, and starts fairly well. We have no problem with power plowing with 4-14's, and could 5-14's easily. It doesn't have the power of the D310 German "Kraut Power" Diesel but it will hang in there. Here is my list of best to least liked IH's of that size 1. 806 with the D361 2. 706 or 756 with D310 3. 1206 with DT361 4. 826 with D358 5. 766 with D360 I wouldn't look into a gasser unless it was cheap or going to be used very little..........I wouldn't want a IH with a D360 either, the ones in the neighbors 766's seem like dogs compared to the 826 with the D358 I ran.
