Thanks guys, but I still dont know? At full throttle the tractor hardly revs, you have to pull an 8 foot disc in second, cant be right. But throttle can be made to go way past the throttle stop. To update on what happened, Grandpa developed altzheimers(the gift that keeps on taking) in the late 70s. His brother-in-law,(also deceased) an old time IH trained mechanic did something to "turn back" the tractor to keep "PAP" off of our rather steep hills. Just cant find out what he did. As I said all adjustments and linkage check out (very little wear) only the creasant shaped arm on the throttle rod rests at about 5 o'clock at low idle. By the way, This tractor earned the money to pay for my birth some 35 years ago. So its kinda like a brother to me, Priceless......H
