Some things to check: Shut the gas off at the tank, disconnect the line at the carb, and see if you get a good stream into a can when you open the valve back up. If not, pull the carb and clean it. If everything else was full of crud, it probably is, also. When putting it back make sure the throttle linkage and butterfly valve (where the carb hooks to the intake manifold) are working correctly - the valve should go from shut to open when you move the throttle lever. Also, make sure you match the shaft coming over from the governor to the butterfly valve correctly when reinstalling the carb. Hope this helps.
