I'm not sure which "original bolt" you are trying to save. I am a new (and firm) believer in what Hugh MacKay says about replacing battery cables. I put new 2 gauge cables on my 6 volt C and it spins it over and it starts like it is brand new. New cables come with new bolts so that is not a problem. If you are unable to get new cables at this time a regular steel bolt will last for awhile in the battery end of the cable. It will eventually rust and corrode. If you are concerned about the end that grounds to the tractor then you can always drill out the old broken off bolt and use an easy-out to the it out. Page 68 of the parts manual has a detailed drawing of the electrical system. For the $20-30 US it costs this manual is invaluable.
