John - Shouldn't hurt to leave the dog loose so long as you don't let the tractor roll backward with the clutch disengaged and the tranny in a forward gear (or roll forward with the tranny in reverse). Theotically doing so could cause the dog to start to unscrew... If that's a concern, simply take a pipe wrench and snug (tighten) the drive dog on the tranny shaft. Or with the hydraulic outlets plugged and the motor running, "bump" the Liftall lever back a couple times to deadhead the pump. That'll tighten the dog right up!
