Ok guys, thanks for the great ideas and info... here is what I found. The plaque on the side of the hood looks original, as it looks like they took great care to mask it off and paint around it. It says International Cub I did find a serial number plate in the vicinity of the steering gear box.. was almost completely painted over.. but the paint was thinn enough to read through.. said International corp, chicago ill. model international cub sn 227381 J ( The numbers in the serial number all looked uniform.. the 'J' looked hand stamped, and was much deeper imprinted in the plate. Ideas? info? Now I need to figure out which I&T manual to get for it. Looks like my instincts were right about not getting the ih-8.. as it only went to '57. Thanks Soundguy
