thank you for passing on your knowledge and for taking the time to read my post.it turns out the linkage was missing between the park lever and the pawl mechanism.no telling how long it's been off i've had the 1066 for years.but thank you all.p.s. it turned out to be a 1974 model thanks to a reply.god bless.
