Another oil pressure question

Hi All, I have a 300U and lately the oil pressure has been a concern. When first started, the pressure is great. After 15 - 20 minutes it slowly drops to the other extreme. Today, I drove it home from the woodlot - 15 miles. One thing I noticed was that when going down hill the pressure increases and decreases going uphill - engine speed stays basically the same. Plenty of new oil, etc. Is this a spring problem or is there more to it. Thanks for any input.
