Tommy,I have a 52 Super C that is a distillate set up and is original. There is a small tank mounted on the right side of the motor just above the third plug, there are holes there for the bolts.A fuel line runs from this small tank to the large tank and connects to the fuel strainer bowl assembly(note:finding this strainer assembly is next to impossible). The fuel line runs from the strainer, behind the air cleaner to the carb.My carb is a Carter U.T. BUT it is different than the carter U.T. that you can find rebuild kits for(I used the same needle and seat and they fit alright)Parts for my carb have not been found and the manufacture does not carry them. The manifold is a big square type with a butterfly mounnted inside the big part. Yes you can run gasoline through it and it will do ok.I don't know how this all affects the power but mine does ok. As for the rarity,I've seen quite a few of this set-up around here. They are different and I'll not change mine.
