I own a 16 HP Cub Cadet that I believe was manufactured around 1982. It has a 16HP Kohler K-341 engine. The engine is getting pretty tired, no more power and burning quite a bit of oil. I would like to order a complete new Kohler engine for it but I'm afraid of what exactly to order. There are many applications for this engine and I want to make sure I get the right one that will fit right in without hassle or modifications.
The serial number on the current (and tired) engine is: 8331495 and the serial number on the Cub Cadet is: 2050670U622974.
Would order directly from a Kohler dealer be advisable or should I go to a Cub Cadet dealer?
Any help on getting a new engine would be appreciated.
