There were gas and distillate/kerosene versions of one Carter and two Zenith models. They have some differences, but in general are hard to tell apart unless you are familiar with all three. Other than trying to look up any numbers that may remain, the easiest way to tell what make and model it is to take the gasket between the bottom and top parts to your Case-IH dealer and compare it with the drawings on his computer, as the gaskets from all three are different. Marvel Schelber (sp?) carbs were used on the A and B and will also fit your C, could also be one of those.
