The 300U came with a C169 engine, just like the 300 rowcrop. The 350U and 350 rowcrop came with a C175 engine. However, the blocks in the utility and rowcrop engines have different part numbers, probably reflecting the different ways they mount in the tractor. I suppose it's possible some of the late 300U tractors ended up with a C175 engine as shipped from the factory. The parts manual is remarkably unclear regarding the switch to the larger bored engine.
