The brakes on a 986 are a wet brake and have you friction plates and discs some seals and o/rings , i have never been into one yet but they are not that hard to do as to why it is hanging up i have no clue , it my not be the brake it could be and axel bearing or bullgear bearing out it's way out to lunch . It is one of them things that you'll have to get into to find the problen . Wish i could have been more help on this for ya.
