Jay, If I understand what you are saying.....from your clutch pedal there is a rod that goes back and hooks to a lever. This lever is on the ouside, then a round shaft goes though a bored hole(bearing surface) and on the other side is the lever that works the cluch linkage. This lever on the opposite side from where the linkage from the peddle hooks, has the bolt and jam nut. All the bolt and jam nut does is hold the lever on the shaft and also indexes it to the right place. When you say it is cone shaped, do you mean it is cone shaped on the end that goes inside the lever? Am I correct in my thinking ? Gary
