Dick: Sounds very reasonable, as give or take a bit, that is precisely what happened. One exception though Brooks McCormick being progeny of both families. It must have had a generation limit. There were also a few names from some of the minor companies hung around for awhile. The name P & O as an example stayed with plows for some years.
