Hello, I am in Southern Ohio and my best friends dad just gave me his IH404 as a project. 2 of the sleeve seals broke last fall allowing water into the case and both cylendars. Well, both pistons are now seized. I have been reading on this sight for about 2 weeks now as this is my first tractor. (I am 26 and just moved onto 40 achers of hillside) from what i have gathered this is a c-135 engine with 36 HP and is wet sleeved. I have removed the head and cleaned out all of the water and as much of the rust as I can. I have draind all the fluid and it is currently soaking in deisel right now to help free the pistons. I should be able to replace the sleeves, new pistons, rings, machine the head and be good to go ..... Here are a few of my qestions. 1.) I can not traslate the chart for the year. The clutch place is stamped wit h6011J and the engine block is 875596r1. can anyone assist me in finging out what year this is. 2) where is the best place for a rebuild kit (sleeves, pistons, rings, gaskets) 3) is this a common problem with the c135? 4)Should I need a press to remove a wet sleeve? 5) Anyone have a 404 the want tosell for parts or cheap ???? :) I am sure I will have alot more in the coming weeks. I want to thank everyone in advace for your help/ Kirt

And I think Dad was ready for some automation too. And so it was that we acquired a good, used J. I. Case, wire tie hay baler. In addition to a person to drive th
