aftermarket powersteering on Farmall H?

Years ago I helped an old farmer put some hay up in his barn. The H he used to move the wagons had a rather unique power steering set up which consisted of a hydraulic motor mounted to to the steering column between the throttle and the gage set (the column actually ran thru the hydraulic motor), some hydraulic hoses and some sort of a brace. I wonder to this day if it was something he fabricated or if it was a short-lived aftermarket experiment. I have yet to see anything like it. Schmidty
