leon, First, you say JD "b",if it's got elec.start then it's styled.someone correct me if I'm wrong but 1st yr for elec. start was 1945,slant dash?wide front end?row crop or not?cut or not? Can you see the brass tag w/serial #?should be under mag.right side.Another thing is this site has a great archive for this sort of thing,look at the left column under research and info.You should be able to find everthing you need right down to where it was produced. So the answer to your ? is one one persons junk is another's gold mine.If it were me I'd snatch it up. I have a 1947 "A" and a 44'B flywheel start.I'd trade my wife before either one. Good luck Mike
