Ron, The Farmall A has wet sleeves, so if you take the sleeves out you can clean out the whole inside of the block. I had a Super C that when I pulled the sleeves I found all kinds of sludge and even a rag in the block. I took off the oil pan and flushed all the sludge and dirt out. I then replaced the o-ring seals on the sleeves and reinstalled them, since the engine had been recently rebuilt (by a bad mechanic). Since then on my Farmall B I recently finished, I completely stripped everything off the block and had the block hot dipped at the local NAPA shop. That really comes out nice (almost like new). Roger
