It was explained to me that in the 1958 series (or x40/x60 series) the 2nd digit was the number of cylinders in the motor, and the 1st digit was the number of plows it was rated to pull. The 1963 series (or x04/x06) was swapped so that the last digit is now the number of cylinders in the motor, and the 1st digits were a relative HP number. Stan(VA).
