A couple of years ago I had a customer that had a 706 gas and said that when he was working the tractor in the field the gas got hot enought to boil in the fuel tank. When I check out the tractor I found that there was no heat shield installed on his tractor. I found a heat shield in a tractor salvage yard and got it installed very quickly. The exhaust manifold is only a few inches from the tank, so it stands to reason, the tank is going to get hot. MN Charlie
