The oil slinger is no big deal as it basickly is for lube to the pto assy. You can get good ones used for 40bucks and new ones from I-H are four or more times that. You do have to split at tne front of the tranny and if you dont have any experience will be quite a job as the clutch and left brake pedals have to be unfastened at the platform to move ahead with the front of the tractor when splitting. The oil slinger is on the bottom and the back of the counter shaft in the tranny. I would also replace the input bearing on the tranny with a new seal. I can do this in 4hrs but have roller stands and have done it several times. Pull the tranny cover off and you will be able to see this slinger sprocket to verify if it is your trouble. good luck gene b
