I realize that most everything now is paper, the dual stage probably helps. I imagine the quality has improved since the first paper elements, some of the Walmart types are probably worse. But K&N is not paper, it is some form of washable fabric. I had one in my GMC pickup for several years, until I began reading some automotive forums where there were some rather heated discussions about K&N, mostly detrimental towards it. I think the vehicle did run slightly better with it, but it's easier to put in a new paper one than to clean, dry, and oil the K&N. Tractor engines need all the help they can get, only my opinion, but I don't think K&N is the way to go. Also, to me, the older tractors look better stock that they do modified.
