Paul is right, rebuilding is easy on these. However, before you start, check two things - or one thing twice, depending on your definition. The valves regulating intake and outflo are just little hexagons of bakelite, held by springs. Carefully remove the cap nut from each, and don't lose the pieces when the gas trapped in the line pushes them out of their seat. (Have the gas line turned off first). Clean each, and the metal it seats on with a Q-tip and try again. The other thing to know about these machines is that the fuel pump is very very marginal all the time. A lot of folks disconnect the fuel line from the carb and use a gravity feed from an external tank to start things off. I use an old tiller tank. After getting things pumping, get rid of the external tank and you are back to normal.
