it's not too bad. the injectors are in the head, centered above each piston, hence the name powerstroke. the valve cover gasket is reuseable unless it's leaking. if you have time and are mechanicly able it can be done at home. otherwise it's about a 1/2 days work for our tech. chances are good that it has been done already with 300k, i haven't seen many make it past 100k, but a few. casey in SD
