I pulled the head again today and found bad news. The head must have a crack allowing water in the crankcase. The oil level was about 1/2 quart high and radiator was low about the same. After studying the head closley it appeared to have been repaired before above #1 cylinder. The #1 cylinder had water dropplets on top of it and water on top of some of the valves. I guess next step is to find a good head and maybe even pull the engine and take it to a machine shop to check the block? I guess I will try this, never tore an engine completley apart so what I cant make from the manuals I will be needing some help. I guess also the water could be entering around the pistons in the block also? The cub does not have sleeves so could it still have a crack in the bores for the pistons? Its funny this started as a cub that wouldnt start and look where I am now. Thanks again. GNB in SC
