Hey guys,I was minding my own business today mowing the yard and my buddy calls me up. He said he found a 504D with a single tire front, good working three-point,good paint and sheet metal. He said the engine runs great with no smoke or abnormal noise,BUT,it has a two-inch crack in the water jacket that seeps. My friend thinks it could be braised and he's a good mechanic, but he's new to tractors. So when I asked how's the TA he said "the what", so I don't know about that part of it. What I want to know is are these good tractors? Any weaknesses or drawbacks to look for? Which wide front end will work with this tractor and about what horse power are they? The guy wants a thousand bucks for it. Does that sound like a good deal. Also, never owned a tractor with a TA before, how do you engage this one? Sorry about the flood of questions. Just when I convince myself to lay off of tractor hunting for a while... Thanks for any help.
