Farmallhal Thank you for your response and information. I was trying to remember the type of alternator I had, and incorrectly stated it is a Toshiba. It actually is a Hitachi like yours, so your information is just what I needed. Could you also tell me what kind of diode you installed? I checked at my local NAPA dealer, but they suggested I try Radio Shack. I don"t want something that would be installed in an electronics circuit board, but robust enough for this service. Can you tell me what power specifications I should look for in finding a diode? Thanks again Paul
