please guys i need help on fuel timing

I have a ih 2500-b tractor with a 289-d 4-cyl diesel. i had to relpace the fuel injector pump. i have the pump on number 1 but can"t figure out how to line up the drive plates so the pump is in time with the engine. the drive plate for the pump has several marks. i dont have a repair manual which would probaly tell me the correct timing marks. if anyone could help i sure would be appreciated. thanks. r. mathes
