The bands used on "M" band brakes are not deteriorated by oil (they often become saturated from bad seals on the shafts) and, though no good soaked in oil on the "M" I bet the material would work fine inside yours. Another thought, Heavy equipment repair shops should be able to reline it with friction material used on cable spool brakes used on cranes!! Good Luck Jim Nicholson
