Hey gang, I looked at a 706D Farmall today that is going on the auction on Friday. I could buy it beforehand for $2200. I don"t know....do I need another tractor? They say that it needs a head gasket because there"s compression and oil in the radiator. Of course the head could be cracked too. The hour meter shows 9700 hrs. The good points are that the sheet metal is complete and straight, good flat top fenders, two speed PTO, open station, wide front, dual hydraulics, fast hitch, and supposedly it"s had recent work done on the TA and bottom end of the engine. It runs. Like the guy selling it said, you could almost part it out and come out ok for $2200. I"m afraid that if it goes to auction, the salvage guys will run up the price. What do you think? Am I just trying to convince myself? Paul
