Oil leaks on the front cover are fairly common. The bolts that hold the cover on get loose and the gasket blows between the block and cover. You'll either have to pull the cam or heat the cam gear and pull it off to get the cover off. Either way it's not a real big job. There is no water at the gearcase though. Are you sure it doesn't have a bad headgasket or possibly a bad oil cooler. You'll also need a special seal installer to put the new seal/wearsleeve on the crank when you reasseble it. Good luck.
