MY FATHER HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS WITH HIS SW-4. DROPPED THE PAN TO SEE IF IT HAD A BAD CONNECTING ROD.THEY WERE ALL GOOD,PULLED THE HEAD OFF; A SCREW FROM THE CARB. (FROM THE BUTTERFLY VALVE) WAS IMBEDDED IN THE TOP OF THE PISTON. FILED OUT THE MARKS IN THE PISTON , REPLACED THE MISSING SCREW IN CARB. THAT WAS ABOUT 20 YRS. AGO & ITS BEEN FINE EVER SINCE. EE
