Hydraulics were optional. You could get a Stage II Super M with no hydraulics at all, a belly pump, or live hydraulics. Anyway, IH didn't start putting dipsticks on tractors at the factory until the 450, or maybe even the 560. Unless the engine block is a replacement from a 450 or a combine, or the block was machined for it during a rebuild.
