I didn't exactly talk him down on price. I already had too many tractors (42) including a SMTAD and was not in the market. He wanted to sell and I made a offer, which he accepted. Unfortunately, with all the tractors sitting outside I have people stopping to see whether I'm running a salvage. I just can't bring myself to sell parts, what if I should need one later? On the up side, others stop by like I'm running a used car lot and try to sell me Farmalls. So like a used car lot, I name a fair price, what I consider reasonable, and they can take it or leave it, they usually leave it with me. That's how I got the 450D popping out the exhaust with one good rear tire for $800. The jury is still out on that deal, but the T/A is OK. Then there are those that think it's a museum. I like those if they don't stay too long. A few times we have had an impromptu tractor parade with strangers driving Farmalls around the pasture.
