Though it is hard to diagnoes by remote, I would check first if the armature and bat connections on the regulator were backwards. John T has some fine trouble shooting steps (search for John T in the archives. Bob M is the source for diagrams. Stay with us and we will help. Describe exactly what happens/ed each time. JimN
