Hydraulic Reservoir SA

Posted this in the wrong forum....reckon nobody reads Implement Alley! Anyway, here it is as follows:

Yanked the reservoir off the SA today..leaking like a seive. Found the leak(s) were from around what I call the control valves (bear with me here..I don't have a boook yet). The pistons themselves appear to be leak free. I pulled the valve stems out and find they have one O ring about midway. I then commenced to cleaning the housing....what a nasty mess. I yanked the top and bottom covers off, flushed the reservoir, then disassembled the lift arm mechanisms, cleaned and wire brushed everything. Now, my question is: what lies under the 'head'? There must be 20 bolts holding it on and being afraid of opening Pandora's Box, I set it aside until some of you veterans tell me what to do next/or expect to find when the bolts come off. I also wonder if the O rings are a special type, or can they be replaced by those found in a good NAPA store. Can the paper gaskets be replaced with silicone sealant? The thought of dropping 100 bucks for a kit that contains a palmful of O rings and 3 or 4 gaskets grates my teeth!
