I have a couple of questions concerning the carburetor on my Farmall 656. First, I have a little gas coming out of the drip hole on the carburetor. After running the tractor and shutting it off, there won't be any gas on the bottom of the drip hole for several hours, but check it the next morning and there will be a few drops of gas there. Is this normal? I don't think so because I also have a 140 and it never has any gas coming out the drip hole. I thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor. I replaced the float, float seat and needle and set the float level according to my tractor manual. My second question is how do you know if the tractor is operating efficiently? In other words, how do you know if it is using more gas than it should? I recently plowed and disked 17 acres and planted 26 acres of soybeans. The plowing and discing were pretty heavy loads while the planting seemed a light load for the tractor. I put 39 hours on the tractor doing the above work and averaged just a little over 3 gallons/hour. Does anyone know if this is good or bad? Thanks, Don
