I took the 460D to a wonderful old mechanic(70+)(I know enough to be dangerous) and asked him what was wrong with it. He listened for a second and said "you have a burnt exhaust valve" next he held onto the fuel tubes just before the injectors and said one and six injectors are sorta working but not right, but your pump is working good. He said you can feel the pulse when they inject. I tried comparing them and I couldn't at first, but I finally felt the difference. A sharp pulse vs a softer pulse. I was really impressed. What a neat old guy and a wealth of knowledge. He has been working on tractors for 50 yrs. He said he would do the valve job if I tore it down and brought him the head. I plan on doing that as soon as I clear a work spot. Any advise?
