well Hugh, Have you tred updating your drivers for the new modem? Our service my brother has a problem ands he calls and yells till they take half the moneyy off the bill. Any hoo about three months ago I went with Hughes net sat. I could not get wild blue. I was exstremly disatisfied with them. Down load speeds after 2:00 PM were about 300 to 500 kbs when I was paying for 1000 or better. Up load speeds were in the range of 16 to 32 kbs. I called and bit$% abouty 6 different times and said what am I paying $69,95 for professional and getting dial up speeds they said that the speeds were not guranteed.I thought about dropping them but they would charge me #300.00 to do that.they shut me down one day becuase I went over the fair download quota. Dont know how never did nothing more than normal. Then something happened I got a new emachines PC best one I could get. I dont know if they changed something or if the new PC did it or I finally got the speed soft ware downloaded right on the new PC but now most anytime I can get 1100 to 1200 kbs. Its still slow loading web pages in the afternoon or night but but better than before. Things like paypal with alot of cetificates to check still take a few min to open though. JON
