The people who like dealer paint use IH 2150 from their Case-IH dealer. But, 2150 was not used until 1961. The "correct" code for a 1950 IH tractor is 1102b, not sold by Case-IH, cannot be mixed by my local PPG dealer, I don't know if that is just a local problem or not. 1102b replaced IH 50, which was used from late 1936? through 1949. 2150 and 50 can be mixed in acrylic enamel and acrylic urethane by PPG/DuPont/Sherwin Williams and some lesser companies. If you have not painted before forget clear coating. There is a Paint and Bodywork Forum on this site, page after page of information. I suggest you take some time and study that before you do anything. Then ask questions about the parts you don't understand. There is also another site, www.paintucation.com. It is an automotive site, but the principles are the same. As to paint guns, there is a forum on www.sharpe1.com, it specializes in Sharpe products, but again the principles are the same.
