SMTA Problems?

FYI--I was mowing when all of a sudden the MTA starts missing and stumbling along. After pulling the choke a little, it clears up for a bit. I finally had to drop to 1st gear and with the choke pulled out completely, I limped in to the garage. Thinking I had carb trouble I checked for gasoline and found all to be well. Next I checked the manifold for problems. The plugs and wires ,ect. where all okay. At this point I tried to restart it and the battery was dead.The alternator belt had broken and the problem was caused by a very low battery. I wouldn't have though it would behave that way, but I guess you learn something everyday like they say.
