I ran into a little different problem about 10 years ago on a new furnace. We had a new Ruud 90 plus furnace and ac istalled in 1992. Never had a problem until Jan 1994 when it was about 15 to 20 below zero and the furnace wouldn't start. We had a pellet stove so we started that for heat. Later in the day the furnace started and I called the company that had installed the system. They said they were going to call Ruud. A few days later they called and said that had only occured in Canada. I said this is where that cold weather came from. They informed me a kit would have to be installed to preheat the incoming air. The weather wamed up somewhat and the furnace kept starting ok. They showed up in August to install the kit. When winter came again the furnace would only start when I disconnected the kit that was installed. I called numerous times back to the company and they wouldn't return my calls. I called the Ruud company myself and they wanted to know what the serial and model number was. I had paid for a furnace that was rated at 105,000 btu's and Ruud said that furnace was only rated at 90k. This was in 1995 and the 3 year anniversary was getting near. I called a lawyer and after I brief him about this he said, you need to file a civil suit agaist that company asap since there's a 3 year statue of limitations here. He gave me the procedure over the phone and I went over to the courthouse and filed it. For $13.00 they delivered that by registered mail to the company. The lawyer said that was fraud when they didn't install the correct furnace. A few days later the company called and came out with a Ruud rep. He told them they had installed the kit on wrong pipe. The owner of the company wanted me to take some cash and I said no. I want what I paid for. To make a long story short I received a new furnace. No problems with it. Never had a problem with the ac. That lawyer never billed me and when he was running for office I sent him $100.00. He didn't win either. Hal

The 8N and the Fox - by Zane Sherman. Dec. 13 1998, Renfroe, Alabama. Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit
