I finished up a well on my south farm a week ago today. It was 460 deep and the entire system was a bit over $8,000.00 They put in a Gould 1HP. The well man told me it was the starting and stopping that wore out a sumersible pump. He said this one was rated to run continuously for 30 years. I thought that was pretty incredible. I know this is an entirely different deal than you have but try to spend a little more and be done with it. It is worth a lot to not have to screw with stuff all the time. Good luck, Gene
