Are no weak parts if operated properly. Most the time the rollers and ramp in the unit itself is shot. No way to know until you tear it down. If it makes a whining sound and acts like it want's to pull or does pull in lower gears but not high ones, it is likely the roller and ramp. The TA does have to be adjusted exactly according to the book. You may try that first. If you remove it from tractor a complete rebuild will likely be the way to go, as it is a big job to split the tractor in 2 places. The ramp and rollers can be done by only splitting at the rear end, but it requires some barnyard ingenuity to put it back together. I am sure more detailed and better info will come in a bit.
