Thanks, Farmall discussion group! I replaced the battery and did what Janicholson and John T recommended: polarized the generator and checked the VR, and then I checked all my wiring, replacing one really bad piece that runs to the ammeter. I cleaned ALL my connections, and checked wire continuity throughout. And it turns over and starts better than ever, with a well-charging generator! And it runs great!! Thanks, guys!!
