I've bought a 200+ acre farm in Kentucky. about 50 acres is tillable ground but I'll only be planting about 10 acres of food plots for deer hunting. Local fellow will use his equipment for making hay off the remainder. Rest of the property is wooded.
Have been looking for a tractor and prefer the older ones.
I'm looking at Farmall 340 with the wide front end and have a couple questions...
Was the wide front a factory thing on these?? Kinda looks like it sits nose up with the wide front end, different from the IH 340 utility.
Also, are any aftermarket loaders available for these or how hard is it to find an original loader?
Owner is asking $3200 for it, it seems in nice original condition. Doesn't smoke, runs nice, is gas, says it's a 1961 model. Lift works nice & smooth ect.
I just want a dependable tractor to use when I'm at the farm to bush hog - maintain the driveway - and plow some plots here & there. Is this a good choice?
