I'm trying to get my F20 up and running. A little background, it was a good running tractor 2 years ago. A tornado hit my shop in July of 06, the F20 had minor damage and was driven out of the shop after we got all the debris off of it. It has sat outside until this past weekend. Water got in through a gap in the heat control valve and the motor was siezed. I got the motor freed up and have no spark.
I replaced the points and condensor. The coil was new about 2 years ago and I kept that. I took the mag apart, cleaned some light surface rust off of the armature and the pick ups. The magnetic still appears to be strong. I set the points a .013, the cap and distributer disc looked clean and the plug wire terminals are bright.
Any thing I'm overlooking? Is there a way to test the coil? Is it possible that the cap is water logged and needs to dry out? I tried plug wires from a different tractor and still had no spark. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
