You have a stripped countershaft constant mesh gear (it is located at the front of the countershaft) or the one above it called the transmission driving shaft. Some call it the clutch gear. The damage will be quite evident when you take off the rear frame cover. Good brush hogs have a slip clutch before the right angle gear box and they are worth the money and convenience.
