Internationl 2444 running problems

I hope someone has had the same problem as this and can tell me what I need to do to correct it. I have an International 2444 gas. Not sure of the year but the plate on the side says # 05602. (Serial Number ?)
It ran good for some time but recently when I was mowing it would begin to lose power, sputter and finally quit running. (Like it was not getting the spark or the gas). I cleaned out the sediment bowl, air cleaner filter, inline fuel screen at the carburetor and made sure the fuel cap vent holes were not plugged.
All the filters appeared to be ok but I cleaned them anyway. It still acted as before. Someone suggested the ignition coil was breaking down. I installed a new one and still the same problem. More recently it began to act this way most of the time, even when not mowing but just driving it while it is not under a load.
There is fresh fuel in it, although it is regular gas and not as the manual I have says to use 93 octane. People I have checked with say it is OK to run regular fuel in this tractor and that it is not necessary to use a high octane rating of 93.
Each time it acts up and quits it will start up and run again almost immediately after it has quit but then quit again after a short while.
If anyone has experienced this problem or knows what may be wrong I would really appreciate your input and suggestions you may have to correct this problem. My email address is texont@sympatico.ca Thanks.

Today's Featured Article - Chores - by Frank Young. The ceaseless passing of time! It is at once our friend and our enemy. It measures our progress and it makes us old. Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live ...
